NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) — Winter State Entertainment and George C. Romero want you to help them create the world’s largest zombie event/Nerf war.
Zombies – Nerf Attack is a live-action zombie simulation. This simulation will last two hours, and will allow people to rotate between being a Zombie and being a Human.
Zombies and Humans have different objectives in the game.
Humans will be given 20 minutes to try and stay alive, without being tagged by a Zombie. They will be equipped with Nerf blasters to protect themselves. If a Human is tagged by a Zombie, they become infected.
Zombies will hunt and turn the living. All Zombies will work as a team, or a horde, to tag and turn the Humans. Their goal is to turn as many Humans into Zombies within the 20 minutes for that round. As you tag Humans they join your horde. If a Zombie is hit with a Nerf blaster shot, or a sword, they must freeze for 15 seconds before they are allowed to play again.
Rotations will last 20 minutes each, allowing people to play on both sides of the event. If all Humans are turned into Zombies before the 20 minutes are up, that round will end, and another will begin.
The event will be held on October 1, which has been dubbed National Zombie Day. The Guinness Book of World Records will track the progress of this event.
Players will have to register for the event prior to the attack. Players who sign up between August 1 and Sept. 1 will have to pay $70. Players who register between Sept. 2 and Sept. 16 will have to pay $80, and players who register after that will have to pay $100.
50% of the profit from this event will go directly to the Red Cross.
