The foundation of Romero Pictures was built in 1968 when George A. Romero made, arguably, one of the most important contributions to the world of pop-culture and, in fact, to the world of genre content. By inadvertently creating the world’s first open source monster, Romero, the Elder inspired millions and terrified millions more when he made “Night of the Living Dead.”
It is this legacy that built the foundation on which George C. Romero has built the cornerstones of Romero Pictures.
Believing that storytelling is the oldest and purest form of carrying on a legacy, Romero’s mission is one not lightly taken as he has dedicated Romero Pictures to the development of content that nurtures the purest form of creativity while focusing on the need for content to truly invoke independent thought.
Thanks to the Elder’s contribution to the world of independent film, Romero continues to look to the vast playground of indie horror as a place to not only contribute next generation genre content, but as a place from which to source the next generation of genre storytellers, intellectual properties and terraformers of genre worlds.
